화학관 뒤 출입구의 대지는 남북방향으로 큰 고저 차이가 있으며 유동 인구가 적은 편이다. 이러한 대지 특성을 반영해 경사에 따라 단계적으로 낮아지는 갤러리를 설계했다. 필로티 구조의 홀과 휴게 라운지는 학생, 교직원, 주민 모두에게 열려있는 공유 공간으로 기능하며, 일상 속 커뮤니티의 접점을 형성한다. 중앙에 위치한 열린 공간은 부드럽게 주변을 감싸며 방문자를 환영하는 상징적 역할을 한다.
The ground behind the entrance to the chemistry building slopes significantly from north to south and sees relatively little foot traffic. Reflecting this topographical feature, a gallery was designed to gradually descend along the slope. The hall and lounge, built with a piloti structure, serve as communal spaces open to students, faculty, and local residents, fostering interaction and engagement in daily life. The open central area functions as a symbolic element, gracefully encompassing the space and warmly welcoming visitors.
